Actually Dana no, the data doesn't. It did warm until 1998, recall. So it would seem logical that two decades of warming caused some melting, and then volcanic activity caused the melting since then.
The only correct answer is that we don't really know.
We can speculate a lot of things, but it's too complex, and there are too many things we can't and don't know about the temperature mechanisms on earth.
We can know that it is a factor, and concluding that it is something else wouldn't be very bright until we can be sure that it is not volcanic activity under the sea.
