Even rainy days are fun for your child when they can walk right into their very own jungle safari adventure. By implementing some of the eight ideas in this article, you can easily and inexpensively create an imaginative escape your child will appreciate.

1. Choose a wallpaper border with jungle animals.

There are many wallpaper borders available with jungle animals in the forest, safari scenes, and other wildlife that is found on a safari. By applying a wallpaper border, you are bringing the theme to life for the entire room. Before applying the wallpaper border, pull a neutral color out of the border and paint the walls in that companion color.

2. Make the adventure more realistic with a wall mural.

For an awesome look, locate a companion floor to ceiling safari wall mural and place it as the focal point on just one wall. These murals can be very realistic looking and bring vibrant color into the room which will delight your little one and make them truly feel they are stepping into an adventure every time they enter their special space.

3. Create animal print accents to tie into your theme.

Find leopard and animal print fabrics at your local fabric store. Make simple throw pillows from the fabric and place them on your child's bed, a cozy chair or on a comfy bean bag. These animal prints will pull the safari theme around the room.

4. Add coordinating window treatments.

Make a simple rod pocket valance from a companion animal print fabric. A rod pocket valance can be made easily by hemming the top and bottom of the fabric. Turn the top of the fabric over on the back side to create a 1.5" rod pocket and run a stitching line. Make the valance approximately three times the width of the window so that you can gather it on your curtain rod.

5. Accent with inexpensive plush animal toys.

Pick up some stuffed animal plush toys at your local discount store. You can easily find lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes and many more types of safari animals extremely inexpensively. Place these on the bed, on dressers and on shelves to carry out your jungle animal safari theme throughout the room.

6. Hang mosquito netting from the ceiling.

This can be done in a corner of the room or over your child's bed to provide a canopy. Your child and his friends will love to camp out beneath the protective net while on their own safari.

7. Add cost effective accents to expand the theme.

Mount a straw safari hat and crisscross two butterfly nets on the wall. This can be done above the headboard of the bed as a focal point, or above a low dresser if a wall mural is used as the focal point.

8. Make your own safari artwork.

Cut jungle animals out of leftover wallpaper border and then mount the cut outs on a sturdy white paper. You can also make use of any leftover animal print fabric by using it as a mat around your photos. Simply use fabric glue to adhere the fabric to the edges of a simple wooden frame.

Any of these eight ideas, or even all of them, would be great cost effective alternatives for creating a jungle safari bedroom adventure.

Gender Neutral Nursery Decor?

i really like these curtains and valences for my nursery what do you think...

I'm having twins a boy and a girl i wanted something that wasn't to masculine and not to feminine i thought this print was pretty cute i figured i'd just buy solid bedding in a color as close to that green as possible what do you think
dusty i'm asking for an opinion on curtains..... if you don't have one that doesn't have to do with how outrageous i am just don't say anything... and to say that me asking for decorating advice is outrageous suggests that you think every decorating question is crazy bringing me to this point ....why are you answering decorating questions

a light or pastal green or a very light gray paint would be lovely and would serve for one of their rooms growing up.
The curtains are lovely and would go along w/ light gray paint. Great choice-very astute for now and growing up!
