What is a good price for a 55 gallon glass aquarium? (New)?
For just the aquarium tank I purchased mine at Petsmart for $115 (it also came with the hood and lighting).
If you are talking about decorations and accessories I spent:
$75 for the tank stand
$60 on the proper BioWheel filter for my tank size
$36 on the Marineland heater for my tank size
$50-$60 on the gravel
$150-$200 on the plastic plants and driftwood / rock pieces
$25 for water test kit
$30-$40 for the beginner's books that help a lot
$35-$45 for the Python gravel vacuum
$50-$60 for the fish, food, algae sponge, nets and manual gravel vacuum
This is all approximately what I spent on my 55 gallon to date. All of the stuff I bought brand new, except for the books, which I bought on eBay.
Hope this helps. And of course they are all approximations based on what I wanted for my tank. Prices will actually vary.
